We know that cheese has friends so to celebrate New Zealand Cheese Month we’ve partnered with our Friends at Hallertau and created four beer and cheese tasting paddles. Visit Hallertau this month and you'll get to sample our Puhoi Valley Cellar Aged Cheese which has been expertly paired with a Hallertau beer - each tasting paddle comes with 4 beers and 4 cheeses.

Beer – #2 Pale Ale 5.3%

Cheese – Kawau Blue
In 2016, the Puhoi Valley Kawau Blue was voted best cheese in the country. It is a feisty strong blue cheese with a soft, creamy texture and silky mouth feel.
Beer – #5 Pilsnah 5.0%
Dry & Unparching. De-sweat your brow. Lawns mown. Yoga stretched. Innings had. Here’s the Pils Reward. Clean citrus hop notes.
Cheese – Triple Cream Brie
A rich and indulgent cheese, the Puhoi Valley triple cream brie has an almost buttery texture that melts in your mouth. As it matures, its flavour deepens and the centre softens to a luxurious creaminess.
Beer – Porter Noir 6.6%
Dusty chocolate with hints of cherry pie and sandalwood. A finely composed arrangement of soft tannins, forest fruits and chocolate to leave you with an elegantly long, dry finish.
Cheese – Goats Blue
Aged for a minimum of 6 weeks. The Puhoi Valley Goats’ Blue is a complex cheese with a rather robust flavour. The blue notes are very balanced and work in synergy without being too overpowering.
Beer – Funkonnay 6.5%
This beer spends a year in Chardonnay barrels partying with the nicest bugs we know. Lean and fruity, peachy and very dry. Delicate, racy and moreish.
Cheese – Washed Rind
With its distinctive orange rind and pungent earthy aroma, the award winning Puhoi Valley washed rind is a must try. At room temperature, its super oozy centre may just make it chairman of the board.
